41st Anniversary Chorus Urbanus Thanksgiving Mass

Today, Chorus Urbanus celebrated its 41st anniversary since its foundation with a special Thanksgiving Mass celebrated at St George’s Basilica, the place where it all started on Christmas Eve of 1975. This special celebration was presided by the new Archpriest, Msgr Joseph Curmi. During the service at 17.00 hrs, motets by Tye, Palestrina, Galea and Arcadelt were performed.

It has been a fascinating journey to observe the growth of Chorus Urbanus into the dynamic entity that it is today, which holds a key-player status in the national choral scene. As a result, our choral efforts along the years have uplifted congregations and audiences, striking deep and lasting friendships, needed and welcome inspirations, and countless opportunities to nurture vocal talents while collaborating with living composers such as John Galea, our musical director, Karl Fiorini and Ruben Zahra. If we have had a distinguished past, the future is as vibrant as ever while the Choir embarks on its 12th choral tour to Torino and Nichelino during February 2017.
